FXCollaborative's 2019 milestones include the opening of the Statue of Liberty Museum and Bilkent University Student Residences; the topping out of 1 Willoughby Square, 77 Greenwich, the Columbia University Business School, 7900 Wisconsin Avenue, and 555 E Street SW; the groundbreaking of Covenant House New York; and the LEED Gold certification of The Greenwich Lane.
2019 also saw the elevation of Partner Nicholas Garrison to the AIA College of Fellows; the promotion of 7 partners, 6 principals, 10 senior associates, and 8 associates; and a new Chief Technology Officer, Director of Marketing & Communications, and Interiors Studio Director for FXCollaborative.
We participated in conferences including the AIA Conference, CTBUH 10th World Congress, NOMA Conference, EDspaces, SCUP, and New York Passive House Network Conference; as well as Archtober, NYC Pride March, Covenant House Sleep Out, and the New York City Women's March.
Our people and projects were featured in exhibits including "The Road Ahead: Reimagining Mobility" at the Cooper Hewitt Museum, "Say It Loud" at the AIA Conference, "Balancing Act: Urbanism & Emerging Technologies" at the Boston Society of Architects and AIA Seattle Center for Architecture & Design, and the AIANY Interiors Residential Review.
Our firm was honored with rankings in Architectural Record's Top 300 Architecture Firms, Interior Design's PowerGrid Top Firms, and ENR's Top 100 Green Buildings Design Firms. Staff recognition includes Bruce Fowle's NY4P Corporate Champion 4 Sustainability Award; Angie Lee's Interior Design HiP Award; and Sylvia Smith's Beverly Willis Architecture Foundation (BWAF) Pillar Award.
Our projects were recognized with notable design and industry awards including the AIA New York State Honor Award & Best of the Best (The Statue of Liberty Museum); NYSERDA Building of Excellence (La Central, Building C); CTBUH 50 Most Influential Tall Buildings of the Last 50 Years (4 Times Square); Chicago Athenaeum American Architecture Award (Circa Central Park); ENR New York Award of Merit (The Statue of Liberty Museum); and AIA New York Design Merit Award for Architecture (35XV).
