Jonathan Liang

LEED GA

I love working with my team to develop high-level design concepts. I strive to create unexpected spaces that inspire their users.
Jonathan is a junior designer at FXCollaborative with a love for the built environment and all things design. His favorite part of the design process is coming up with overarching design themes and carefully working out the details with his team.

First attracted to architecture through a fascination with film environments, Jonathan looks to unbuilt works and imagines how they might become a reality—using his background in animation and special effects to think outside the box and to expand on the ordinary. He is interested in the potential of architecture existing in new art forms. After completing his Bachelor of Architecture from Carnegie Mellon and M.S. in Advanced Architectural Design from Columbia University, Jonathan has built on his knowledge of commercial and cultural projects.

Jonathan is skilled at producing quick iterative drawings to test out façade systems, unit layouts, and other design options. He is excited about innovative design techniques such as 3D printed facades, unique material options, and adaptable building elements.
