Leslie is an architectural designer focusing on cultural and educational projects at FXCollaborative. Interested in architecture, urbanism, sustainability, and the intersection of the three, she is always looking to learn and expand her perspective. Regardless of project stage or scale, Leslie is an enthusiastic hands-on contributor, bringing a spirit and energy to everything from research and presentations to drawings and technical coordination.
Possessing varied interests in art, design, history, and structure, Leslie is continually redefining her strengths. She holds a Master of Architecture from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Maryland. She lived and worked in China for almost two years, during which time she gained a profound appreciation for the value of diversity in ideas, experiences, and cultural understandings.
Leslie is inspired by how people live in cities and how architecture and planning can make for better places. She is drawn to projects that help—whether on an urban or architectural scale—through the use of sustainable materials and green design or by directly supporting individuals with mission-driven programming. She is particularly interested in research, context, and sustainability, including opportunities for timber construction in urban settings, and large-scale projects that consider issues of pollution and research.
