Here, Pace students will find black box theaters, rehearsal studios, recording studios, sound stages, production shops, design labs, classrooms, and a new 450-seat proscenium theater. These state-of-the-art spaces are carefully threaded through the original building's structure, celebrating its raw materials and DNA while also modernizing it to reduce the University's carbon footprint and create new visual connections out to the city.
The Performing Arts Center will also house the Sands School of Performing Arts, elevating its academic reputation and reinforcing its standing as a leader in performing arts education. With this new facility, Sands students will be empowered to innovate new modes of storytelling, new ways to reimagine audience experiences, and new forms of spatially and technically progressive theater-making.
