The mixed-use residential tower blends its historic context with inspiration from and access to the nearby waterfront.
Situated at the edge of the Cobble Hill neighborhood in Brooklyn, 1 River Park is a 15-story mixed-use residential building defined by its two characters—a warm, light stone composition with bronze metal work, and a more fluid, horizontally-expressed tower that floats above. These characters relate to the two contexts the building responds to: its historic brownstone neighbors, and its adjacency to the waterfront.

Taking inspiration from the play of light on the rippling water of the nearby East River, the tower's composition of curvilinear balconies and terraces along the water-facing façade are the sculptural identity of the building. The undulating design creates opportunities for each residence to literally push past the edge of the building and be part of its dynamic environment. Residences are crafted as oases, with studios to three-bedroom apartments featuring generously proportioned rooms and balconies, direct views of the water, and multiple internal connections to enhance a feeling of spaciousness.
