Simin is a designer in FXCollaborative's Cultural and Educational Studio driven by a deep compassion for society. As she creates representative drawings of her projects, including axonometric and section diagrams and renderings, she imagines the occupants in the spaces she designs and focuses on their well-being.
Born and raised in Beijing, China, Simin graduated from college during the pandemic with a desire to channel her studies into communal care. She spent the next two years working as a designer on prefabricated hospital and healthcare facilities, which could be realized quickly to respond to urgent needs. Simin then moved to New York for graduate school, where she continues to explore the urban environment.
Simin believes that design that deeply cares for and prioritizes people will allow the industry to survive in the fast-paced era of artificial intelligence. Outside of work, she enjoys snowboarding and hones her project management skills as a wedding planner.
