Michael is an architectural designer at FXCollaborative focusing on transportation and residential projects. His approach to design is informed by his background in mathematics and art. Michael can quickly visualize constructs in three dimensions, allowing him to analyze design moves in his head prior to drawing or modeling them. He also understands how to develop a concept into a realistic design solution, capturing architectural intent while considering physics and materiality.
Michael was inspired to enter the design field through an architectural drawing course. He became fascinated by Frank Lloyd Wright and the concept, materiality, and execution of his Usonian homes. He is interested in the way that nature can not only surround, but be brought into a home, integrating it with its context.
Michael is involved with NCARB and AIA, and he is passionate about community service. He also enjoys drawing, designing furniture, and working in a woodshop.
