Ololade Owolabi

The end user should be considered in every phase of the project. That is what transforms a project from good to great.
Ololade is a Junior Designer at FXCollaborative and works across a broad range of market sectors and project types. Her design approach is rooted in strong communication, and her ability to adapt and learn quickly allows her to achieve the goals of each project. Ololade particularly enjoys the exploration and iteration that takes place during the conceptual design process, which sets a creative tone for the project.

Ololade is originally from Lagos, Nigeria, and her passion for architecture was sparked by visits to construction sites with her parents, who are engineers. She has had a love of technical drawing from a young age. Ololade felt that her city's architecture did not reflect its rich history and creative minds, so she decided to study architecture to become part of the change she wishes to see.

Living in a variety of places and traveling around the world has informed Ololade's perspective on how factors such as climate, temperature, material availability, and technical knowledge can inform architecture. She hopes to see more climate friendly projects realized in the future, and she believes that all projects should prioritize the environment and climate. She also hopes to see more diversity in the AEC industry. Ololade is an active member of the American Institute of Architects.
