New Directors

FXCollaborative
In support of FXCollaborative's continued growth, the firm has promoted five individuals to Management Director and Design Director roles. With these advancements, we hope to cultivate the next generation of diverse leaders and create new opportunities for cross-disciplinary work.

Sara Davis, Principal and Management Director, will oversee primarily residential projects. Sara has held a large variety of roles, from managing and coordinating large projects to developing conceptual sketches. Within her projects, Sara focuses on a cohesive team environment, taking a flexible yet rigorous problem-solving approach that becomes ever more essential as architecture and design learn to respond to wide-ranging environmental issues.

Toby Snyder, Senior Associate and Design Director, will guide the design of primarily residential projects. Toby's design perspective centers on interconnectedness, and he believes that the challenges to contemporary society's cities, neighborhoods, and buildings can only be resolved if they are seen in relation to each other. Sustainability and affordability are more than buzz words to him: he views each facet of his work—from his designs to the way he talks about projects to how he works in the office—as contributing to a more sustainable and more affordable world.

Amy Patel, Principal and Management Director, will focus primarily on commercial, mixed-use, transportation, infrastructure, and planning projects. As a licensed architect with an MBA, Amy has fulfilled a number of diverse roles on large-scale design and construction projects. She excels at balancing complex considerations in management, technical, design, and team dynamics to create successful projects with strong leadership.

Fernanda Freitas, Senior Associate and Management Director, will oversee primarily cultural and educational projects. With experience as an architect, project manager, and owner's representative, Fernanda brings insight from all sides of the table to each project. Fernanda's tenacity in leadership and management and dedication to empowering and inspiring those around her lead to the successful management of complex projects.

Austin Sakong, Senior Associate and Design Director, will guide the design of primarily cultural and educational projects. Austin is a natural collaborator, intensely curious, and values the contributions and ideas of all his collaborators. Austin's practice is informed by his belief that architecture and urban design are humanist pursuits, and that the quality of our built environment, like that of literature, hinges on its ability to articulate meaning, stories, and life.
