Wearing pink hardhats and caution tape sashes–reminiscent of the
Woman Suffrage Movement–Women of FXCollaborative (FXWomen) joined forces with multiple women's groups across the New York architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) community to take part in the 2019 Women's March on NYC. Organized by the
Women's March Alliance, we participated with an estimated 200,000 other women and men who marched in solidarity on a variety of issues affecting women.

This year, we marched with our colleagues from
Dattner,
SOM, the
Beverly Willis Architecture Foundation,
AIA New York: Women in Architecture Committee,
Thornton Tomasetti,
HLZA,
Marvel Architects, and
CannonDesign under the theme "Women Build", with each firm representing what the statement meant to them.

Our signs celebrated the many contributions women bring to the AEC industry, a call to action in our support of equality for all, and the message "join us", which was directed to young women thinking about a career in architecture.
