Jishnu Murali

Urban life and connections are formed in the spaces that exist between the buildings.
Jishnu is an urban designer at FXCollaborative, where he focuses on architecture, public realm design, zoning research, and conducting feasibility studies to develop practical solutions. With experience as an architect, interior designer, and urban designer, Jishnu has developed a multidisciplinary perspective on how design impacts various scales. His work balances aesthetics, functionality, and user experience.

Living and working in diverse cities, including Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, and New York, has shaped Jishnu's approach to design, leading him to craft solutions that are responsive and adaptable to the complexities of each urban landscape. These experiences instilled in him the importance of functionality, contextual sensitivity, and humanism in design, and he continues to strive to create spaces that not only serve the needs of each user but also resonate on a deeper emotional level.

Jishnu has continually used architecture as a tool to resolve design issues beyond the site scale and has worked on impactful projects at the region and city levels. One of his notable projects was the Mohalla Clinics initiative, where he collaborated with the Government of Delhi to rapidly deploy clinics using prefabricated shipping containers during the Covid-19 pandemic. In his free time, Jishnu appreciates walking around the city, observing the urban environment, and making new discoveries.
