Magdalena Zink

AIA

I endeavor to design buildings that serve both people and the planet. There are so many existing resources around us that can be harnessed and transformed into the buildings and spaces of the future.
Magdalena is an architect with expertise in residential and commercial renovation and interiors projects. She brings a strong attention to detail and intuitive sense for team dynamics. Magdalena is passionate about materials, details, and circular design, and she delights in seeing new and old elements come together to bring unique character to a project.

Since taking a circular design studio in school, Magdalena has been a strong advocate for zero waste design. For her thesis, she researched and documented the waste created by the Department of Architecture and designed a new flow of materials, illustrated by drawings and models made entirely from transformed “trash.” This interest fueled her travel to Copenhagen, where she worked as part of a cutting-edge research team focusing on circular and behavioral design, proposing environmental and people-focused strategies.

Magdalena is an active member of CR0WD (Circularity, Reuse, Zero Waste Development) and part of a driven working group, RECLAIM-NYC, focusing on deconstruction advocacy. In these multidisciplinary groups, she collaborates on white papers and conducts outreach to grow the circular construction economy in NYC. Magdalena is also a member of Ridgewood Rides, a community advocacy and social bike riding group promoting safer streets and micromobility.
