This ambitious project created a coherent intermodal hub linking above- and below-grade subway lines with buses at grade, while simultaneously providing a civic icon for Jackson Heights.
The Roosevelt Avenue Intermodal Station serves as an entrance and transfer point between the elevated and subgrade subway lines, buses to LaGuardia Airport, and other transit lines for the region. It is the busiest station outside Manhattan in the New York Subway System and serves hundreds of thousands of people daily.

Our renovation and expansion of the terminal building transformed an outmoded, dilapidated, unsafe station that was built almost 100 years ago into a full-functioning, environmentally responsible transit hub—serving as a modern beacon for the community, rooted in the transformative power of TOD and historic infrastructure.
