FXCollaborative's proposed design for a new police station in Maryland balances the client's need for state-of-the-art security systems with a desire for a facility that is inviting to the community. A plaza establishes a welcoming neighborhood destination, while high-security functions, such as holding areas and interrogation rooms, are placed towards the back of the building and away from the general public. Reflecting the growing and progressive nature of the community, the project includes a new 250,000-square-foot office building that capitalizes on the previously under-developed site's prominent location.
