Since 1986, FXCollaborative has provided planning and architectural services for the Spence School, allowing them to expand their curriculum and fulfill their mission. The firm designed a 25,000-square-foot addition that maintains the historic character of the school's landmarked main building. They performed subsequent renovations of the library, science labs, classrooms, and lobby. In 2001, FXCollaborative completed a master plan for the expansion of the Middle and Upper Schools and subsequently designed the phased renovation which included new classrooms, art rooms, a black box theater, and key gathering and circulation areas.
