The transformation of the east end of 1 Pace Plaza will create an exemplary, dynamic new home for the undergraduate and graduate performing arts programs. The scale and scope of the project present a compelling opportunity to create a new physical outward identity for the arts at Pace University, revealing the program and expressing the values of the University in one of the most ambitious undertakings in its history.
The design echoes Pace's ethos and identity by celebrating the mid-century building's original structure and raw materials while increasing transparency and engaging with the fabric of the city. Highly flexible theater venues, performing arts spaces, production shops, and educational spaces with indoor outdoor connections will support creativity and enable new forms of spatially and technically progressive theater-making.
