The new light rail line serves as a catalyst for further redevelopment in downtown Newark, with each new station treated as a design extension of the neighborhood.
For the first of three segments of a new light rail system in downtown Newark, we realized an opportunity to both create functional transit hubs and improve the streetscape. Working in collaboration with BRW and Parsons Brinckerhoff Engineers, each new station was treated as a design extension of the neighborhood, with new lighting, paving, and landscaping. Stations reflect their immediate urban context, with sleek canopies, custom-built colored glass, and ample seating for travelers.
