One of the largest neighborhood-scale sustainability plans in the United States, the roadmap will guide the Battery Park City neighborhood to carbon neutrality by 2050.
The Battery Park City Sustainability Plan is a comprehensive framework of strategies, goals, and specific actions to achieve progressive sustainability targets, including a 33% reduction in GHG emissions and 70% of electricity use from renewable energy sources by 2030. Our team, led by Buro Happold, worked collaboratively with Battery Park City Authority and other stakeholders to assemble a comprehensive set of recommendations to prioritize sustainability and work towards a carbon neutral neighborhood.
