A series of plazas, paths, and garden areas redefine the space, negotiate the elevation differences, and offer new connections.
Our design for Haven Plaza takes its inspiration from the great campus open spaces that are the iconic, memorable centers of campus life. It blends plantings, paths, and plaza elements, along with new building façades and extensions to create a space that enables formal uses, catalyzes informal ones, and re-connects the campus.

Through the New York City Department of Transportation's Plaza Program, the plaza offers a variety of paths between existing and new building entrances, frames and directs the view of those passing through, and provides a wide variety of seating and gathering spaces. The design engages the buildings in the landscape and the landscape in the buildings, while also providing new spaces and functions within buildings, and new vistas of the campus and out over the Hudson. A landscaped set of ramps and stepped terraces affords dramatic views.
