An iconic 1980s skyscraper with a soaring entrance lobby needed updating—but the owners wanted to retain the original essence and grandeur of the space. Tasked with the sensitive redesign, we focused on lighting as a way to add warmth and definition.

In the interior lobby, a series of brilliant LED fixtures alternate rows of suspended glass baffles, helping to define the space, showcase its scale, and separate it from the exterior entry. Custom pendants illuminate a Frank Stella artwork that was originally commissioned for the building. A sculpted boomerang-shaped reception desk, repositioned to a more prominent location near the elevators, creates a warmer, more visible welcome. New elevator cabs, custom wayfinding graphics by Pentagram, and tenant identification, add clarity and body to the space.
