The Hunters Point South development required a master plan that could accommodate a rapidly growing community along the Queens waterfront.
We created a master plan and design guidelines for a new 30-acre pedestrian friendly development that includes over 5,000 units of primarly affordable housing, retail, and cultural and educational facilities. Three distinct open spaces define neighborhoods within the development, including an expansive East River park for active recreation, a more passive waterfront esplanade along Newtown Creek, and an interior landscaped mews that connects the two waterfront areas and acts as a bioswale to collect storm water from paved surfaces.
