After purchasing a Midtown Manhattan property originally constructed in the Renaissance style in 1925, we were commissioned to develop a proposal that reimagines and elevates the dated structure to a contemporary, boutique hotel offering with state-of-the-art amenities. We proposed a four-star accommodation comprising approximately 300 guest rooms ranging from basic units to multi-bedroom suites, some with terraces. We reconceived several interior spaces including meeting rooms, restaurants, a fitness center, and more. We also detailed updated building infrastructure, including life safety systems and energy-efficient mechanical systems, that employ state-of-the-art sustainable technology.
Additionally, the proposal explored strategies for rebranding the building itself. Signaling an era of change, the dramatic insertion of a two-story glass box atrium within an existing plaza would provide a dramatic new entrance along 38th Street, engaging a renewed urban presence.
