The residential interiors, which we designed in consultation with an academic expert on healthcare design, move away from an institutional approach to craft a more inviting and welcoming home that meets the needs of an elderly population.
Acquiring a sizable parcel near Las Vegas, our client sought to create a new, urban "continuum of care" development including a nursing and rehabilitation center, and independent, assisted, and memory care living. The parcel, situated adjacent to a set of Union Pacific railroad tracks dividing it from the city, required a design strategy to make it a welcoming and comforting locale in spite of its urban edge condition. In collaboration with CO Architects, our team proposed a plan for a mixed-use structure with a parking garage that serves as a structural buffer between the building program and the rail. The project spans 105,000 square feet of skilled nursing, 122,000 square feet of senior living, 54,000 square feet of medical office and outpatient space, and an additional 19,000 square feet of restaurant and retail space. Offering a wide range of amenities to support a diverse community, the design proposal for Symphony Park primes the neighborhood development as an emerging residential and entertainment center for the greater Las Vegas area.
