New social and collaborative spaces, increased natural lighting, and state-of-the-art audiovisual components ensure that the new facility provides a rewarding learning environment for generations of students to come.
Cornell's undergraduate school of business, a Beaux Arts masterpiece, comprises a prominent corner of the campus' Agricultural Quadrangle. Our goal was to preserve the 1930s structure's impressive exterior while updating the interior to accommodate a next-generation research university. With a restored facade and completely renovated interiors, the structure dramatically improves life for students and faculty. The first floor accommodates most of the student activity spaces including classrooms, case study rooms, and support areas. Faculty and staff are now consolidated on the upper floors, creating a quieter, community-oriented environment. Lounges are disbursed throughout the building to allow for easy conversation and partnership between students and faculty members. Updated infrastructure systems optimize the operations of the building, reduce energy use, and dramatically improve the quality of the indoor environment.
