The new academic facility establishes a distinctive presence on campus while ensuring interdisciplinary collaboration and adaptability for future growth.
We created a home for the Milano Graduate School at The New School within an early 1900s loft building on Manhattan's lower Fifth Avenue. The project consolidated the school from multiple locations and established a presence on campus for the first time in its history.

The design facilitates communication and cross-departmental collaboration, addressing the school's request for "a professional look that reflects Milano's unique and nontraditional position among policy and management schools." Glass partitions maximize daylight and define informal meeting areas and natural gathering spaces. The offices are planned around flexible modules to accommodate future growth.
