Parcel 2.14 incorporates multiple uses, from office to residential, retail, and religious components. Our challenge was to design a site that could serve a variety of purposes seamlessly, while remaining responsive to its yet-to-be-formed surroundings. At the center of the parcel rises a 26-story tower, which takes advantage of open north—south view corridors through adjoining sites. The building's east and west facades acknowledge the lower residential building and mosque below, which faces onto a public plaza. Two pedestrian thoroughfares connect the street to the wadi surrounding the tower—activating the street and adding depth.
