Soraya Ammann is an architectural designer with experience across urban design, residential, and institutional projects. She brings a creative and iterative approach to design, with strengths in reframing complex problems and moving fluidly between conceptual, technical, and social considerations.
Soraya began her architectural education in the United Kingdom at the Bartlett School of Architecture. She later earned her Master of Architecture from Yale University, where she worked as a design assistant at the Yale Urban Design Workshop and, following graduation, at the Yale Center for Ecosystems + Architecture. These experiences exposed her to community-based planning and housing projects, material research, and ecological design, which in turn shaped her interest in adaptive reuse and socially responsible design.
Having grown up and lived in cities including Hong Kong, Singapore, Denmark, Austria, the UK, and the US, Soraya brings a global perspective to her work and an awareness of cultural context. She is particularly interested in how architects communicate ideas visually and verbally to different audiences. Outside of work, she is involved in local community initiatives and enjoys spending time painting, knitting, building furniture, and working with ceramics, interests that continue to inform her work as a designer.
