Rachel Bouraad

As architects, we are ultimately storytellers — responsible for carrying a project's narrative through every scale and stage of design.
Rachel Bouraad is an architectural designer with special expertise in urban design, pre-design, and zoning for residential projects. Her work draws on precedent and research, with a focus on the creation of a clear architectural narrative.

Rachel first discovered her interest in architecture through designing theatrical sets for high school plays and musicals, where she developed an appreciation for creating compelling spaces and spatial storytelling. She earned a Bachelor of Architecture with a minor in Sustainability from the Pratt Institute School of Architecture. Acting as a teaching fellow, she developed curricula and taught design thinking and 3D modeling to elementary and middle school students.

After being awarded a traveling fellowship, Rachel researched the impact of infrastructure and the urban fabric on the lives of the people in the Chicago and Houston metropolitan areas. This experience shaped her understanding of how large-scale systems affect everyday life in cities. Rachel is also an avid film enthusiast and is particularly interested in the relationship between cinema and architecture.
