Taking a Stance in Recent Op-Eds

FXCollaborative
Two recently published op-eds by FXCollaborative Partners address critical issues facing New York City and the AEC industry.

In the NY Daily News, Jack Robbins, Partner, argues that capping a section of the Cross Bronx Expressway using a comprehensive approach that integrates housing and jobs with new green space could help address the injustices of 1950s-era planning against marginalized groups who were displaced by Robert Moses. As an experienced urban planner, Jack turns to modular prefabricated housing to aid in bridging the gap and connecting communities across the divided neighborhoods.

In Gotham Gazette, Dan Kaplan, Senior Partner, advocates for the importance of 421-a and inclusionary housing subsidy programs in addressing New York's housing crisis and building a more equitable city. While an examination of the program's costs, effectiveness, and areas for improvement is necessary during this budget season, the program offers important benefits that must not be overlooked.
