YMCA La Central Opens in the South Bronx
The new YMCA, located within La Central, the mixed-income, mixed-use development designed by FXCollaborative in the South Bronx, officially opened on October 27th. The 50,000 square foot YMCA is located in "The Hub," a diverse, vibrant community located at the junction of four major thoroughfares and a number of subway and bus lines. The La Central YMCA is an anchor of the new development project that includes retail, community, and outdoor recreation space, and nearly a thousand new affordable housing units.
