Designed by FXCollaborative and developed by JEMB Realty Corporation, 1 Willoughby Square celebrated its ribbon cutting on June 15, 2021. Downtown Brooklyn's first modern office tower to be built since the 1980s, the 34-story, nearly 500,000-square-foot tower reflects Brooklyn's independent spirit with a façade of blue glazed bricks, oversized windows, and column-free loftlike floor plates. In addition to providing office space designed to meet the ethos of today's creative enterprises, the building also includes retail space and a 300-seat public school.
Spanning three full floors, FXCollaborative's new office embodies the firm's philosophy of high design, sustainability, and collaboration while offering a healthy, flexible work environment for employees. Designed by the firm, it features a dramatic interconnecting stair, an expansive 4,500-square-foot terrace, flexible workstations in wide-open studio environments, and ample daylight that illuminates collaboration and maker spaces. The office is anchored by an expanded and enhanced FXCollaborative Gallery. The new workplace is designed to achieve LEED Platinum.
