On February 8, 2021, 555 E Street SW was certified LEED Gold by the US Green Building Council.

The 12-story mixed-use residential and hotel building is a transformative project in Washington DC's predominantly commercial Southwest area. Taking advantage of the site's views, proximities, and easy transportation access, 555 E Street SW extends a full block with retail and lobby spaces on the ground floor, and a U-shaped floorplate above that contains a combination of market-rate residential units, affordable senior units, and a stylish citizenM hotel. Outdoor spaces include a central courtyard on the second floor and an active rooftop.

555 E Street SW features a number of sustainable design elements that contribute to a 28% energy savings and 40% water use reduction from applicable code and baseline measures. The design includes window frames and glass that are more efficient than typical. A dedicated outdoor air ventilation system provides optimal filtered fresh air while recovering heat from the exhaust air stream, and heat is also recovered between apartment mechanical systems. Chilled beams in the hotel provide efficient, comfortable, and quiet air conditioning. In addition, 555 E Street SW utilizes a high amount of recycled content materials, and over 75% of construction waste was diverted.
