Two of FXCollaborative's projects have recently received LEED Gold certification. Proto Kendall Square, a residential project in Cambridge, Massachusetts, was certified LEED Gold on February 19, 2020, and The Greenwich Lane in New York, which was previously awarded LEED Gold certification, achieved LEED Neighborhood Development Gold certification on January 28, 2020.
Proto Kendall Square creates a vibrant mixed-use residential community for Cambridge, Massachusetts. The project creates a visual anchor in the bustling tech-centric Kendall Square neighborhood, and provides high-quality housing that improves the public realm, promotes a sense of place, and strengthens a culture of innovation. With interiors by Stantec, the exterior façade features precast panels that are detailed to create a layered feel, varying from more solid to more transparent for privacy when adjacent to neighboring buildings and opened at the top and corners to allow greater access to views.
The Greenwich Lane is a multi-building redevelopment in the heart of New York City's Greenwich Village Historic District. Totaling 728,000 gross square feet, the five-building, mixed-use complex on the former St. Vincent's Hospital Campus entailed one of the most complex Landmarks Preservation Commission approval processes in recent history. The resulting development knits together existing façades and a variety of building types into a seamless composition of form and materiality and simultaneously contributes to a more vibrant, sustainable, and well-connected neighborhood. The project's
LEED Gold Neighborhood Development certification includes the adjacent 130 West 12th Street and the NYC AIDS Memorial Park at St. Vincent's Triangle.
