FXFOWLE has launched
Podium–a new white paper series that reflects the firm's core values of design excellence, technical innovation, and sustainability.
Podium was created with the goals to share research and experience in evidence-based practice; showcase in-house expertise in areas that range from design and technology to management as well as their holistic integration; and build an expanded archive of knowledge to serve as a resource for all current and future firm projects.
First up is
Moving Parts: Modular Architecture in a Flat World. Authored by
David Wallance,
Moving Parts explores a specific proposal for a new type of modular building system geared to the needs of a rapidly urbanizing world.
Followed by
From Anywhere to Somewhere: Blurring the Lines Between the Workplace and the Urban Sphere by Sarah Gerber. When we can work anywhere, working somewhere becomes increasingly important.
And then,
Istanbul: Modern Metropolis–Layered History. Authors
Dan Kaplan and
Fatin Anlar use
Allianz Tower as a Case Study to illustrate Istanbul's rich and layered past as a backdrop to the city's current growth and renewal.
Lastly, authors
Ilana Judah and Fiona Cousins, Principal,
Arup, investigate the role of the Urban Skyscraper with respect to climate change adaptation in
The Resilient Urban Skyscraper as Refuge.
Podium is published throughout year and featured on FXFOWLE
Publications.
