888 Boylston Street Breaks Ground

FXCollaborative
FXFOWLE Architects is pleased to announce that 888 Boylston Street in Boston, MA has broken ground. 888 is the last site of the renowned Prudential Center and will be its "front door" on Boylston Street. Designed to be the most sustainable speculative office building in New England, 888 Boylston Street aspires to have a light touch on natural resources, enrich its Back Bay context and enhance the quality of "the lives inside." The developer for 888 Boylston Street is Boston Properties; project completion is scheduled for 2016.

"Our design for 888 rises to the promise of its pivotal site. It is a reinvention of the "Commercial Palazzo"", referring to the general shape and classical proportions, light filled productive spaces and a cluster of civic and commercial identities, stated Dan Kaplan, FAIA, LEED AP, Senior Partner, FXFOWLE Architects. "With its lightness, solar responsive design and crown of 14 wind turbines, 888 will be a captivating symbol of sustainability on the Boston skyline."
