Cameron Ringness' Yellow Weather paintings explore the boundaries between abstract and figurative art. Her recent large-scale portraits celebrate the ordinary and familiar. She paints people she knows inhabiting often overlooked, everyday interiors. These images carry the impact of a formal portrait imbued with the intimacy of a candid snapshot. Color is heightened and space is flattened—a counter to her architectural work—in order to maximize the emotional landscape and humanity of her subjects.
