Justin Winslow.
Pronouns are linguistic tools used to refer to people (i.e. he/him/his, she/her/hers, they/them/theirs), but they are also the preferred gender pronouns that we choose to identify ourselves. Valuing terminology only expands our understanding and respect for people's gender identities and how they express themselves. We humans categorize each other as a way to describe and assign differences–race, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, etc. To complicate matters, the English language is constantly evolving, and word choices are increasingly important; especially in the LGBTQ community.
pronouns is on view in the FXCollaborative Gallery from June 7-29, 2018, Monday - Thursday, 9 AM to 5 PM, and Friday, 9 AM to Noon. An opening reception will take place on Thursday, June 7, 2018 from 6 PM to 8 PM.
FXOne was created as a forum to recognize and raise awareness of LGBTQ issues within the architecture and design industry. The group also provides outreach opportunities for the firm to volunteer with LGBTQ organizations in the city.
