AIDS Walk New York drew an enormous crowd of 20,000 participants to Central Park. And right at the start line leading all of the walkers was our LGBTQ and Allies Group FXF-one. This was the first time we have participated in AIDS Walk New York, and it was FXF-one's first major event as a group. The entire group finished the 10-kilometer walk within two hours, taking a little time for a group photo in front of our project Circa Central Park, which was located along the event route. This year's AIDS Walk New York raised over $4.6 million to benefit
GMHC and dozens of other tri-state area AIDS service organizations. Collectively, Team FXF-one raised over $8,360 (167% of our goal) to help people living with HIV, and people in need of food, housing, and care. Thanks to everyone who participated, and to those who donated.
FXF-one was created as a forum to recognize and raise awareness of LGBTQ issues within the architecture and design industry. The group also provides outreach opportunities for the firm to volunteer with LGBTQ organizations in the city.
