Perspective Tip 7

Carol Hsiung

There are many aspects to architecture, but its presentation is what ultimately gives it a face. For architects, the architectural vernacular is alluring and seductive as it communicates complex ideas through visually-stimulating diagrams and drawings. It's what initially attracted me to architecture.

Since most people do not understand plans, elevations, and sectional drawings, perspective drawings can help to bridge the gap. To create an multi-dimensional perspective, you simply apply the below techniques to both hand-drawn and digital renderings and watch them come to life.

One master of perspective was Frank Lloyd Wright, and his perspective drawings inspire me to this day. We can't all be as good as him, but hopefully, with a few of these tips, we can try.
